We’re a couple planning our first trip to Thailand and can’t work out the season - we’d love the islands and the north at their best without landing in the heaviest rain. For those who’ve been, which months would you aim for, and is it worth paying more for the dry season?

Aim for **November to February**. It’s the best time for a first trip because you will get comfortable weather for both the northern mountains and the islands. And Yes, it is worth paying more for the dry season to avoid heavy monsoon rains and the northern burning season.
