Some itineraries open in Athens, others save it for the finish after the islands. We can’t decide whether to take on the city while we’re fresh or wind down there at the end. Which order worked better for you?
Simple answer - start and end in Athens.
Totally agree @TravelNotes. Starting and ending in Athens is the way to go. It also makes the logistics a lot easier. Flying in and out of the same city means simpler (and usually cheaper) flights, and you can still do all the island hopping in between. Totally worth it!
