Staying in a riad in the heart of the medina sounds wonderful, but I do wonder about comfort, quiet and air conditioning compared with a normal hotel. Some tours lean one way, some the other. If you’ve stayed in both on a tour, which would you pick again?
YES to the Riyadhs!!! SO Moroccan and wonderful.
Very comfortable, maybe doesn’t look like a Holiday Inn, but why are you traveling!!
We had a wonderful experience staying in Riads! Beautiful, comfortable, amazing hospitality - preferred the Riads we stayed in over hotels.
Riads, 1000%!!! A lot of Morocco tours already mix traditional riads with desert camps or hotels anyway so you can get the best of both worlds. Heard lots of good things about Palais Andara Riad And SPA, but would probably recommend booking far out in advance as it seems to sell out pretty quickly lately. Would love to hear what other riads any one else might recommend or would actually consider staying in again
?
I haven’t been yet, but I chose a tour that stays in a riad for exactly this reason. You can stay in a hotel anywhere in the world, but a riad is something else entirely. I wanted the most memorable and authentic accommodation experience possible, and that felt like the right call. Can’t wait to report back!
