I’ve stayed at ClinkNOORD before and while it was fine, the 20 year old hallway parties are not it for me at 35. Going to Amsterdam again for 4 nights in August and I want a private room under 150 EUR in a hostel or small guesthouse that actually has a chill vibe. Somewhere I can get a decent night’s sleep and have a quiet breakfast without being handed a flyer for a pub crawl. Any specific names y’all have actually slept at?

Finding a private room in an Amsterdam hostel under 150 Euro will be extremely difficult these days, I know, because I tried last year. I stayed in a hostel in a pod. It is called Bunk in Amsterdam Noord.
From my experience:
- It was very quiet and felt more like an upscale hostel
- They offer rooms, but I opted for a pod because of budget and it was great
- There were people of all ages, not what I am used to in a hostel
- The hostel restaurant and bar were fantastic! A highlight for me.
